"Central to the philosophy of qigong is the understanding that we must cultivate moral and physical strength together to prolong life, develop human potential and help others."
Yuqiu Guo, a Chinese medical doctor
and herbal pharmacist
For qigong practitioners who seek the deepest possible cultivation experience as well as for those students who wish to embark on a career of healing as a medical qigong professional, Chi Wellness offers a professional medical qigong practitioner certification training program that assures clinical proficiency that exceeds the training that is necessary to receive national professional certification from the National Qigong Association as a advanced medical qigong therapist. We must emphasize that training in qigong, whether it is for personal or professional purpose, must be undertaken gradually and under the close guidance of a highly advanced clinical qigong healer and teacher (otherwise serious chi deviations that adversely affect physical and emotional health could result). The services of a medical qigong therapist greatly and positively impact their clients’ healing processes when the practitioner focuses on his/her self-healing and growth in consciousness and his/her clinical training equally. Graduation from our Professional Medical Qigong Practitioner certification training program requires the student’s satisfactory completion of the following courses of study and practice here in Chi Wellness, totaling approximately 440 hours within approximately 3.5 years. Certain courses may be taken simultaneously. At the time of this update, completion of this curriculum incurs the expense of approximately $6300 in tuition.
- BEGIN YOUR QIGONG LIFESTYLE – 18.0 Hours
- QIGONG MOVEMENT – 45.0 Hours
- THE TAO OF POWERFUL LIVING – 22.5 Hours, Prerequisite: A student enrolling in this course must first successfully complete Beginning the Qigong Lifestyle.
- DEEPENING QIGONG WISDOM – 17.5 Hours. Prerequisite: A student enrolling in this course must first successfully complete Beginning the Qigong Lifestyle.
- I CHING WISDOM FOR CONSTANCY AMID CHANGE – 33.0 Hours
- CHI SUPPLEMENTATION - 20.0 Hours
- PLANT FOOD MEDICINE - 24.0 Hours
Beyond the courses identified above, the following courses must be successfully completed to fulfill the requirements for certification as a Professional Medical Qigong Practitioner:
REVIEWING QIGONG WISDOMS – 8.0 Hours
Format: 2 4–hour Workshops, Tuition: $180 ($90 per workshop)
These workshops review and address questions about the healing
and lifestyle philosophies, practices and exercises learned in Begin Your Qigong Lifestyle and Deepening Qigong Wisdom, which must have had to be successfully completed prior to enrolling in these workshops.
Payment in full of tuition for each training module is due on the first meeting date within the course, unless previously and otherwise arranged with Ms. Allen. All tuition, fees and payments due or paid are NON-REFUNDABLE. We accept payment in the forms of checks, money orders, cash and most major credit cards.
Prior to graduation, medical qigong students must complete in (1) at least one Qi Athletics workshop and (2) a full term of Community Service of the students’ choice to enhance stamina, proficiency, confidence and personal leadership skills that spontaneously respond to challenges and strife that are constantly confronted in the fast paced, outer world.
"As a medical doctor and scientist, I entered my first qigong treatment session with the trained skepticism of a Western physician. As the session progressed, I was amazingly impressed that through her unique assessment technique, Debra was able to accurately locate and define all of the abnormal areas of functioning throughout my body, some of which only I was aware of and specifically had not shared with any of my doctors. She also located an occult fracture in my left wrist that had occurred many years ago that I had forgotten about because the pain I experience occurs intermittently. I witnessed a significant improvement in physical and cognitive functional capacity, vigor and mood stability. My wife, as well, observed the significant transformation in me at all levels. This is the most wonderful therapeutic experience I have ever received in my life. Indeed, Debra is a very gifted, intuitive healer."
